A. Adviser: the comic adviser gives uncalled for advice in a Punch prototype. Ex: Advice to people who want to buy a puppy: Don't. Anecdotes: any interesting event, either having to do with a celebrity or something smaller, that helps the humorist make a point. Anecdotes are great for the speaker and writer. Aside: a thought added as if something the speaker was saying reminded him of it. Banter: good-natured teasing back and forth; exchange of witty remarks. Blendword: blending two or three words to make a new word. Ex: smog for smoke and fog. Blue Humor: not appropriate for the public speaker. Humor based on easily offensive subjects like making love, body parts, and bodily functions. Blunder: wit based on a person who makes a… [cont.]

A. Ha!!! Ha!!! ha!!! Very funny. If you must know. there's many forms of humor. It's all around you. If you look, hear,&see. The list is endless. Humor is a form of communication that starts from light to Dark. Depends on who's on it or who's involved. You see, As we grow up, we develop our wits by our parents or people we interact with. As we get older our humor grows with us. Me, myself. I enjoy all humor. Especially (sarcastic. and humor that you can get away with it.!!!) But be very careful with it. HUMOR. like all words has a double sided blade. be careful who you aim this at. Most people can't handle humor like some others. So mind your P&Q's . Enjoy.!!! Haqpy Birthday!! lol..

What makes the vitreous humor in your eyeball?
Q. I am doing a report on the eye, and I need to know what cells make the virtreous humor in the eyeball, and then I need to know what nerve innervates those cells in the eye. Thanks for the help. I am not looking for the composition of the vitreous humor, rather the cells that literally make it (secrete in some form or another). I understand that is is not made of cells. I am trying to finish a report, and I have no idea where to find this information. Thanks for your help.
Asked by einstein_15650 - Mon Sep 18 20:44:53 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The vitreous humor is not made up of cells; it is 99% water and the remaining 1% is mainly salts, sugars, phagocytes, and collagen fibers. The optic nerve (cranial nerve II) innervates the sensory portion of the eye. The muscles that move the eye are controlled by the oculomotor nerve (cranial nerve III), the trochlear nerve (cranial nerve IV), and the abducens nerve (cranial nerve VI).

A. Well, I have a very dark sense of humor. I'm always laughing in the theater when everyone is dead silent. Can't think of an example right now, but it's like laughing when a character in a movie dies tragically and at other, wildly inappropriate times.

How do you describe your sense of humor?
Q. I always find it funny how someone will fall over laughing at a joke, while the other person just stands there staring into space. Do you suppose people get their sense of humor from their parents? Culture?

A. And the other person (staring into space) will fall over laughing at a completely different joke that would leave you staring off into space! I think a sense of humor comes from family and close people. If one is with a family that laughs a lot, they will love to laugh, too.

What effect do you think cartoons with adult humor have on kids?
Q. Just curious about what impact some of these cartoons with adult and sexual humor have on kids. I think it's fairly obvious that they are geared on getting kids to watch them while attracting an adult audience as well. Is this all right in your opinion? Or is this exposing kids to adult themes too early.

A. I feel that sitcoms show children being disrespectful to their parents is harmful and promotes such behavior. It only makes it harder for parents to instruct and discipline our children. There have been studies done that when one is exposed over and over again to a person they become sort of numb to it, accepting it as OK and then imitating that behavior. Having said that I strongly feel any jokes tinged (meaning slightly influenced by)with racism, or disrespect of marriage mates and children of parents, eventually will just be OK. I mean don't we already see this in society today?

What type of humor would French ppl most appreciate?
Q. am going to Paris March 2010, and will learn a little more French of course before we go there. I'd like to learn a few jokes in French to crack a few up {possibly}. Would they prefer political jokes? And what type of humor do they like the least? Should I stay away from "light" jokes referring to Queen Elizabeth or would they just roll over loving it?

A. whoopee, this is the most dangerous minefield of all. Humour, French humour, has nothing to do with British or American humour. We love puns, but based on words with multiple meanings and not with similar sounds (ie, the same sentence has two totally different meanings). We love jokes but many English jokes do not make us laugh because we do not have the same sense of humour. As for political jokes, you have to understand all the references to laugh, and unless you joke about our own politicians we won't understand the joke. This site explains it well: * "I believe that nothing separates people more than their sense of humour" (Theodore Zeldin) * As quoted by Hill (quoting Gruner), the French value Wit (intellectual, hostile,… [cont.]

Q. Does heredity play a role and to what extent if any, can your sense of humor be changed by conscious effort?
Asked by crosseyedlemon - Sun Sep 30 10:05:09 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Absolutely, my family and I have a certain sense of humor characterized by wit and word play. I expect it was from my family's above average intelligence. Certain families are just more literate than others and there are certainly more snobby families than mine who have their own sense of humor. Rememeber "Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy? Hopefully, not that bad.. but the rich and "sophisticated" have their own brand. I wouldn't know. But I suspect educated families laugh at jokes others would not. I know, I taught and many jokes went over the kids' heads cuz they didn't know WTH was going on? A joke about the TV show "Trading Rubble" instead of "Trading Spaces" did not work until I had to teach them what the word "rubble" meant... yeah,… [cont.]
